DOCTRINE

In essentials unity, non-essentials diversity, and everything charity.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and the foundation of truth and doctrine. Furthermore, we believe the Bible to be the highest form of revelation from God to man as its authority rests upon no church, council, or creed, but simply because it is the Word of God. [Psalm 1:2-3; John 1:1-3; 1 Thes 2:13; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21]

THE TRINITY

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that the triune God of the Bible is the one, true, living God and the author of all creation. Each Person of the Godhead is fully and completely God and possesses the attributes of God, yet each one is distinct and unique. [Gen 1:26; Matt 28:19; John 10:30; 2 Cor 13:14; Eph 4:4-6; 1 John 5:6-8]

THE CHRIST

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is fully God and fully man. Furthermore we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His propitiating and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. [Is 9:6; Matt 1:23; John 1:1-4 & 1:29; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; Rom 8:34; 1 Cor 15:3-4; 2 Cor 5:21; Phil 2:5-11; Col 1:15-20 & 2:9-10; Heb 1:1-4 & 4:15; 1 John 2:1-2; Rev 19:11-16]

THE SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life and bear good fruit. We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is poured out on believers that they might have power to be His witnesses and minister supernaturally. [John 3:5-8 &15:16-26; Acts 1:8 & 4:31; Rom 8:5-17; 1 Cor 2:14; Gal 5:16-18; Eph 6:12]

THE WAY

We believe that apart from the saving work of Jesus Christ all men are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus is the only way to the father, and that repentance of sin and faith in Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and eternal salvation. [Jer 31:33; Ez 36:26; Luke 24:46-47; John 3:17-18; John 14:6; Acts 4:12 & 17:30; Rom 6:23; 2 Cor 5:10-11; Gal 2:16; Eph 1:7 & 2:8-9; Ti 3:4-7; Heb 6:1]

THE GOSPEL

We believe in the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ - His condescension, His perfection, His ministry, His death, His resurrection, His ascension, and His return. Furthermore, we believe that the gospel is the power of salvation for those who believe, the foundation of all true believers, and should be of first importance in our faith. Therefore, we believe the gospel should be preached audibly, bodily, and regularly for both edification and evangelism. [Matthew 3:7-8; John 4:20-21; Corinthians 2:1-5; 13:1-31 & 15:1-7; 2 Corinthians 7:9-11; Colossians 4:14; 2 Timothy 4:9-10; Hebrews 5:11-6:31; James 1:12; 1 John 3:2-3; Revelation 1:10-18]

THE RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the rapture of the church, and the glorification of the saints at the moment of the Lord’s return at the end of the age. We also believe in both the resurrection of the saved and the lost; the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal death. [1 Cor 15:51-57; 1 Thes 4:13-17; 2 Thes 1:1-3; Rev 20:11-15.]

THE CHURCH

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. Furthermore, we believe the local church is irreplaceable and authoritative in advancing the kingdom of God and should be led and covered by biblically-qualified, servant-hearted, male elders. [Matt 16:18; John 13:35; Acts 14:23; Rom 12:4-5; 1 Cor 12:12-13; 2 Cor 13:11; Gal 3:28; Eph 4:1-16; Phil 2:2-3; 1 Tim 3:1-7; Ti 1:5-9; 1 Pt 5:1-4]

THE GATHERING

We believe in the literal physical gathering of the saints for the common good of the brethren, for edification, for exhortation, for evangelism, for encouragement, for fellowship, for instruction, for impartation, for accountability, and for community. [Matt 18:20; Acts 2:42-47; Rom 1:11; 1 Cor 14:26; 2 Cor 13:12; Col 3:16; 1 Tim 4:14; Hebrews 10:25; 3 John 1:14]

THE SACRAMENTS

We believe in both Water Baptism and Communion as sacred church traditions commanded by Jesus, practiced by the apostles, and kept throughout church history. In addition, we believe that Water Baptism is a symbolic and powerful act of obedience publicly declaring faith in Christ and that Communion is a symbolic and powerful act of obedience reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. [Matthew 3:11; Mark 14:22-24; John 6:48-51; Acts 2:41, 8:12, 8:35-36, & 22:16; Romans 6:4-5; 1 Corinthians 10:1-2, 11:23-26, & 12:13; Colossians 2:11-12; 1 Peter 3:20-21]

THE PATH

We believe that all true Christians are called to walk the narrow path of Jesus Christ which includes holiness, prayer, evangelism, and discipleship. Furthermore, we believe that all born-again believers will bear the fruit of righteousness, commit to the fellowship of the saints, and submit to the authority of God’s Word. [Matt 9:35-38, 22:37-39, & 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Rom 10:9-15 & 12:20-21; Gal 6:10; Col 2:6-7; 1 Pt 3:15]

THE UNION

We believe God’s will for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of biblical marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous lifelong covenant between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. [Gen 2:18-25 & 5:2; Lev 18:22; Prov 18:22; Matt 19:5-6 & 22:29-33; Mark 10:6-9; Rom 1:26-27; 1 Cor 6:9-11 & 7:9; 2 Cor 6:14; Eph 5:22-33; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Jude 1:5-7; Revelation 19:6-9]

THE FAMILY

We believe in the God-ordained authority structure of the nuclear family, that husband and wife are of equal in worth before God, but that the husband has the God-given responsibility to provide for, protect, and direct his family through servant-hearted, sacrificial leadership, and that the wife has the God-given responsibility to honor, respect, and submit to her husband, serving as his companion in managing the household and nurturing the next generation. We also believe children are a blessing from the Lord called by God to honor, obey, and submit to their parents and that parents are called to disciple their kids in godliness by example, instruction, and correction. [Gen 1:27-28 & 2:20-25; Ex 20:12; Duet 6:6-7; Ps 127:3-5; Prov 1:8-9, 22:6, & 23:13; Eph 5:24-25 & 6:1-2; Col 3:18-21; 2 Timothy 3:14-15; Ti 2:4-5; Peter 3:1-7]

THE UNBORN

We believe that human life is sacred from conception and that we must protect and honor the physical and spiritual needs of those in the womb. Therefore, we believe that abortion is murder, a sin against God, and a crime against humanity, and that the pre-born deserve equally protection under the law. [Ps 139:13-15; Is 49:1; Jer 1:5; Matt 18:2-10 & 22:37-39; Rom 12:20-21; Gal 1:6 & 6:2]

THE PROMISE

We believe that God will remain faithful to His covenant promises to Israel and that He has future plans and purposes for them. We also believe that as ingrafted branches, we owe much gratitude and honor to the people of Israel. Therefore, for the sake of God and His people, we offer friendship, support, and prayer for Israel and the Jewish people. [Gen 12:1-3; Gen 15:18; 17:1-8; Gen 26:3-4; Gen. 28:13-15; Deut 30:1–10; 2 Samual 7:10-16; Jer Jer 31:35-36 & 33:14-18; Eze. 36:24-29; John 4:22; Rom 9:4-5 & 11:11-36; Heb. 8:8-12]
